Will repellents get a San Antonio house mouse out of the attic?

Introduction
The moment San Antonio house mice enter into the house, they usually become habitants of the house just like the human beings. With time as they reproduce and as their population grows, they usually turn into a very big problem to the human beings living in the same house. It is for this reason that human beings have designed different kinds of repellents in order to help them get rid of the house mice.

Areas where Texas mice build their nests in human houses
House mice are very intelligent creatures. They usually use this intelligence for survival in human homes. House mice prefer to nest themselves in very isolated areas within human houses. Such areas are usually not easily and frequently accessed by people and this is the main reason that makes mice hide in such areas. They include the following;
• The attic, which is main areas that mice prefer to live in
• Voids in ceilings especially near sources of heat
• Behind or inside drawers and many more

House mice repellents
In the markets today, they are several repellents that are being sold for use against San Antonio house mice. These repellents are meant for use in getting rid of any house mice that may be a source of problem to human beings. Below are some of such repellents and their effectiveness;

• Mothballs
These are ball-like substances made of chemicals with strong unpleasant smells. At first, mothballs may be used to get Texas mice off the attic but just like any other creature, the mice will get familiar with the strong odor from mothballs and hence may not pose a threat to their existence.

• Pepper mint repellents
Peppermint repellents also have a strong sharp smell that is meant to make San Antonio mice uncomfortable. The only problem is that mice have the ability to ignore the smell and take it as just part of the environs in the attic.

• Ammonia
Ammonia spray may also be used as a repellent but the strong smell from ammonia may not be unpleasant enough compared to the urge for food. This makes the use of ammonia ineffective for use against mice.

• Ultrasonic mice repellents
High pitch sounds are usually meant to irritate the mice in attics. At first, the ultrasonic repellents may work perfectly but with time, the mice will get used to the sounds.

Finally
Almost all Texas mice repellents are ineffective for use in getting rid of mice in attics. It is advisable to use mice traps as a method of getting rid of mice that may be causing problems to human beings.
